For our client we are looking for a WAN Engineer (f/m/d).

Frame data:

Duration: 31.12.24 ++ (long term)
Capacity: 100% if possible
Location: Berlin / Remote (1 week Berlin / 3 weeks remote in rotation), up to 50% onsite in peak times
Budget: 90,00 EUR net

Role:
– The infrastructure product group offers data center services that are provided via software for other product groups. The WAN engineer is part of the network department within the
infrastructure product group.
– The EDP project is re-engineering a MPLS WAN covering Germany and Belgium, the MPLS WAN is solely built and managed by the project and therefore this is not an MPLS network from a 3rd
party, all components of the
WAN P/PE, IGP, EGP are built and maintained by the project, p2p links are provided by 3rd parties but only at l2, therefore the individual must have e2e experience in MPLS network
design and deployments and understand how
and where optimization of the backbone can be made.
– For example, this includes ISIS and BGP timer optimization, route table optimization, RT/RD management. The individual must have a deep understanding of all MPLS related
technologies.

Skills (must-have):
– Proven expertise in designing and deploying MPLS WAN’s, Internet provider (ISP) peering options (incl. BGP) , Public Cloud (Azure, GCP) connectivity options (direct peering, dedicated
interconnects, carrier peering)
– Experiences in external connectivity to the Internet (IX Peering) and Public cloud providers (Direct/Exchange Peering)
– Protocols: Core MPLS/MPLS-SR, ISIS, LDP, BGP, L3VPN, OSPF, VXLAN, SONET/SDH, Ethernet
– Systems: Cisco IOS-XE, Cisco NX-OS and/or Juniper (MX)
– Experience with Jira, Confluence and Miro or similar tools
– fluent English in speech and writing (at least C1)

Skills (should-have):
– vyOS, Cisco ACI, Cisco Nexus Juniper Apstra, Palo Alto, Client VPN technologies
