The Department Spins in Energy Conversion and Quantum Information Science is looking for

Postdoc (f/m/d) for the Investigation of Color Centers in Diamond Membranes

Your Tasks

  • Conduct and support nano-scale NMR/EPR experiments and characterize the physical properties of colour centres in diamond.
  • Develop, set up, and implement experiments, including for cooperation partners.
  • Analyse and interpret measurement data; contribute to the design and execution of research projects.
  • Explore and further develop theoretical foundations, models, methods, and procedures.
  • Supervise and support PhD, Master?s, and Bachelor?s theses.
  • Assist in laboratory administration and manage technical documentation.
  • Prepare publications, reports, and presentations for scientific journals, conferences, and diverse audiences.

Your Profile

  • We are looking for a highly motivated and curious scientist (f/m/d) with a PhD in physics, physical chemistry, chemistry or related fields
  • Knowledge in optical and/or magnetic resonance spectroscopy is required
  • Experience with low temperature experiments is advantageous
  • Independent communication and cooperation with the project partners, including the organisation of the exchange of samples and measurement campaigns
  • Self-motivated, detail and goal orientated work style with the ability to solve scientific and practical challenges independently, coupled with team spirit in a multidisciplinary
    environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Additional German language skills are an advantage
