The role
We’re looking for a strategic and visionary Director of Design Systems & Enablement to lead the evolution and governance of our global design system across all HelloFresh brands and
platforms. In this role, you’ll shape the future of how we design at scale — enabling consistency, accessibility, and quality across customer and internal-facing experiences.
As a senior leader in the UX organization, you’ll build and lead a team of designers and engineers, work closely with Product, Brand, and Engineering leadership, and champion a culture of

What you’ll do

Lead and scale HelloFresh’s global design system to support multiple brands, platforms, and markets, ensuring quality, cohesion, accessibility, and efficiency across
the design and development process. - Enable design excellence at scale by evangelising and enabling accessibility.
- Manage a team of 3 designers dedicated to design systems and operations work.
- Drive the strategy, roadmap, and governance of the design system in close collaboration with stakeholders across UX, Product, Engineering, and Brand.
- Establish and maintain scalable contribution models, documentation standards, and design tokens frameworks that empower teams while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Champion accessibility and inclusion by embedding WCAG compliance and inclusive design principles into system foundations.
- Collaborate with Brand and Marketing teams to align on visual identity, tone of voice, and the evolution of brand expression across digital products.
- Evangelize the design system internally, communicate its value, and enable adoption through tooling, training, and active community engagement.
What you’ll bring
- A senior design leader with 10+ years of experience in product design, with at least 4+ years dedicated to building and scaling design systems at a
global or enterprise level. - Strong player-coach mindset — you’re comfortable rolling up your sleeves in Figma while also building vision, strategy, and a high-performing team.
- Deep experience in partnering with engineers to build and maintain UI components, design tokens, and system infrastructure.
- Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Brand, and Marketing.
- A strong communicator and facilitator, with the ability to translate design system needs into compelling narratives and actionable roadmaps.
- Proficient in tools such as Figma, Storybook, Zeroheight, Tokens Studio, and familiar with design ops workflows.
- Passionate about accessibility, inclusive design, and creating seamless experiences at scale.
- Experience working in fast-paced, agile environments, ideally in consumer-facing tech or ecommerce.
