Beamline Scientist (f/m/d) for the Two-Color EMIL Beamline
Your Tasks
- Operation and user service at the EMIL beamline.
- Further developing (automatization) of particularly the hard X-Ray branch of the EMIL two-color beamline.
- Characterizing energy conversion materials using X-Ray Spectroscopic Methods available at EMIL/BESSY II.
- Supporting the strategic advancement of EMIL.
- Independently communicating and collaborating with the colleagues of the supporting units on the experimental floor of BESSY II.
Your Profile
- Highly motivated and curious scientist holding a PhD degree in physics, (electro-) chemistry, chemical engineering, or material science.
- Expert knowledge of hard X-ray optics/operation of beamlines and synchrotron-based methods is necessary.
- Experience in user service is advantageous.
- Affinity to the study of energy conversion materials and devices is a plus.
- Programming skills for efficient beamline operation and data handling, e.g. Python, are essential.
- Excellent English communication skills are necessary. Additional German skills are advantageous
- High level of intercultural competence and ability to work in a team.
